Thomas’s Yorkshire Bakery is a family run craft wholesale bakery based in Elland, West Yorkshire. We are active members of the National Association of Master Bakers and we bake to order.

At Thomas’s Yorkshire Bakery we use only the highest quality ingredients for all of our products. Our skilled bakers work throughout the evening to produce the freshest bread for our customers which is then delivered early in the mornings. We bake 6 nights a week to ensure our bread is the freshest and by doing this it is not necessary to add any shelf life enhancing preservatives.

We call our customers daily to collect orders for the following day and we have a fleet of vans which deliver daily, free of charge, within our catchment area. Where required we will deliver your order very early so when you arrive at your business in a morning your fresh bread is ready for you to prepare for your customers. Alternatively orders are ready to be collected from the bakery from 6am Monday – Saturday.

For one off large orders we will consider going further afield- so please contact us to discuss this further. Throughout the day we bake our hand baked goods, these are produced to a very high standard by our experienced team and we distribute our products now around the country.

Our business is small enough to care passionately about our customers and products but large enough to cater for the ever changing customer needs.

In the last 4 years we have invested substantially in our equipment to ensure consistency and reliability. We hope our business continues to bake bread and more into the distant future.


The Team


We have a loyal, hardworking & experienced team at the bakery with a team of 20 of in total. We have a night manager, John, and a team of bakers on nights working six nights a week to ensure all bread is baked fresh to order. On days we have a manager and a team who bake the home baked goods and finish and pack them, we also have Tracey & Sandy in the office who do a great job contacting a number of customers daily to gather their order requirements for the following day. We have a team of four drivers delivering daily across the region and Graham who also does a great job in sales. Jackie is our home baked goods manager and Technical Manager. Managing Director Ian oversees the operation whilst Charlotte works on the sales, marketing & product development.

Locally sourced ingredients

Sourcing our ingredients locally and working in partnership with local businesses is key to our business. Our weekly flour deliveries comes from Bradshaw’s, a family miller in East Yorkshire. Our milk from our local dairy and we work with local companies where possible. Our equipment is also sourced locally where possible our oven is from a company in Manchester, our flow wrap from Pudsey our biscuit forma from Bradford and the list goes on.

Food Standards

We are proud to have been awarded the SALSA accreditation which is a nationally recognised award for smaller food producers.

This enables us to supply regional and national buyers who request smaller producers hold this certification.

SALSA is supported by many of the principal food buyers in the UK and we are in a position to demonstrate to them and existing customers that their quality products are being produced to a safe and legal standard.
